Many times asphalt “settles” or sinks around sewer covers. The correct way to fix this is to pour concrete not put back asphalt. When we pour the concrete we make sure it is at least 6” thick with rebar added to provide the correct bonding and strength.
The end result is a stable, long lasting sewer cover or drainage grating that can withstand the weather, vehicle traffic and additionally will drain properly instead of allowing standing water.
