EPDM is an extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) widely used in low-slope buildings in the United States and worldwide. Its two primary ingredients, ethylene and propylene, are derived from oil and natural gas. EPDM is available in both black and white, and is sold a broad variety of widths, ranging from 7.5 feet to fifty feet, and in two thicknesses, 45 and 60 mils. EPDM can be installed either fully adhered, mechanically attached or ballasted, with the seams of the roofing system sealed with liquid adhesives or specially formulated tape.

  • EPDM is reflective and cooling
  • Lowest carbon footprint of all single-ply systems
  • Multiple Adherence Methods
  • Cost Effective Waterproofing

EPDM Roofing

EPDM and TPO are both single-ply roofing materials that are Class A fire-resistant. They are both available in wide sheets and are easy to install. The best choice for your project depends on your budget, the building's location, and how long you want the roof to last. EPDM is known for its durability and flexibility, and its ability to withstand high temperatures and UV rays. This makes it a perfect insulator and waterproofing solution for warmer, sunny climates.

EPDM is ready to go for just about any application or project. EPDM is primarily used as an all-in-one solution for complete waterproofing edge to edge. Unlike TPO and other PPO materials, EPDM does require attention to the underlayment in order to not pierce the membrane over time. This type of membrane can also be installed as a temporary fix instead of reroofing. Provantage Systems has many options, call us today to learn more.
